Dr. Megan Wieser

Dr. Megan Wieser grew up in Ontario where she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College. Prior to graduation, Dr. Megan had the privilege of travelling to South Africa to work with small animals, impalas, sables and assisted with buffalo relocation and rhino conservation. Growing up, she was heavily involved in team sports including soccer, field lacrosse, and baton twirling – where she competed at the World Championships in the Netherlands prior to being accepted to veterinary school!

Dr. Megan enjoys being very involved in the community around her. She served as Class President which allowed her to organize fundraisers and charity events with her colleagues. Throughout her career she has worked in emergency medicine, general practice, and has provided locum services for various clinics prior to moving to the island. While there is much to love about this profession, she really enjoys soft tissue surgery and helping senior animals age gracefully. Dr. Megan is excited to join the Elk Lake team where she feels her passion for community outreach, quality veterinary care, and teamwork are equally valued.

In her spare time, Dr. Megan enjoys the outdoors through paddleboarding, golfing and hiking. She is excited to explore all the island has to offer, and cannot wait to meet her new furry patients (and their families!)
