Dr. Petra Juzwishin Warnock

Dr. Petra Juzwishin Warnock grew up here in Victoria, but her passion for helping animals of all kinds has led her far afield. Studying veterinary medicine in Australia, Dr. Petra chose to take significant additional training in treating native wildlife species including possums, bats, kangaroos, koalas, reptiles, and a plethora of birds. Her studies culminated in a rotation at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital in Queensland, and she has done extensive veterinary volunteer work with wildlife in Canada, the United States, and Australia.

Before returning to her Victoria home, Dr. Petra and her family lived in Edmonton, where she held the position of Medical Director of an emergency veterinary hospital. Now that she is back on the Island, Dr. Petra is honoured to continue the ELVH tradition of a purpose-driven, community-minded practice. Her areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, exotic animals, and geriatric medicine. She also has a particular passion for dental health, and is a strong advocate for the significant impact that healthy, pain-free teeth and gums can have on her patients’ quality of life.

Dr. Petra’s immediate family includes her husband Dr. Randall, their three sons Grayson, Aidan, and Hudson, their handsome cat Tommy, and their exuberant dog Winnie. When not caring for her patients, Dr. Petra enjoys spending time with family and friends, and a wide range of outdoor activities.
