Born and raised in St. Albert, Alberta, Figaro – Fig for short – lived there until moving to Victoria in 2021. Companion animals have always been members of Fig’s family – in addition to dogs and cats, they have shared their home with birds, rodents, and reptiles!

While Fig started their animal health career as an emergency hospital receptionist in the spring of 2022, they have been dreaming of joining the vet med community ever since that animal-filled childhood. While their original dreams tended toward becoming a veterinary technician, they have now found their niche as a member of Elk Lake’s compassionate and knowledgeable Reception team. Figaro is particularly passionate about Fear Free veterinary practices – being able to make a difference each day and help families keep their fur-friends happy, healthy, and stress-free is their favourite part of the job.

Figaro’s girlfriend Gwyn is their biggest supporter outside of Team ELVH, and they have just recently come under new feline management – their new kitty Joan “Bad Reputation” Jett is already showing great aptitude for bossing around her humans! When not spending time helping friends with fur, feathers, or scales, Fig enjoys reading, drawing, painting, and playing video games.
