We are fortunate to have had Tara as part of the Elk Lake Veterinary Hospital team for more than 20 years! Born and raised here in Victoria, Tara worked as a travel agent before transitioning to a career in veterinary care. As our lead client care specialist, Tara’s combination of cheerful compassion, organization, and boundless energy ensures that the hospital runs smoothly. 

What Tara likes most about working at ELVH is getting to know the clients and patients. She loves the experience of meeting young puppies and kittens as they join their new family, and watching them grow and change over the years into beautiful seniors. These older patients are some of her favourites because she’s known them so long – but don’t let the younger ones in on the secret, they’ll get their turn!

Tara and her son have two rescue animals (the best cat and dog on the planet, according to their mum). Domino the cat has cerebellar hypoplasia, and Shiloh the dog is a beautiful tri-pawed senior. Tara has an incredible zest for life and a passion for great dance music and can often be found at Jazzercise in her spare time. Although she’s fully committed to her animal-centred career, she still keeps true to her travel agent roots – she loves to take a good travel cruise when she gets the chance!
